County Parks 2011 Season Passes On Sale For Limited Time

During the month of December, residents can save $5 on a Jackson County Parks season pass offering free day entry to the majority of eighteen parks throughout 2011. Parks passes are on sale for $25 at local outdoor stores including Blackbird, Willie Boats, Ashland Outdoor Store, Pat's Hand Tied Flies, Waterworld and Sportsman's Warehouse, as well as offices at Jackson County Parks, the Jackson County Payment Center, and Jackson County Roads. After the December promotion, passes will cost $30.
In addition to free day use at the majority of all eighteen Jackson County Parks, passes are good for $2 off of camping fees.
"A Jackson County Parks Season Pass is the perfect stocking stuffer for the outdoors person in your life," said Steve Lambert, Jackson County Parks Program Manager. "It's a great, unique gift that unlocks a multitude of outdoors activities for the recipient. It can also be a great gift for New Years' resolutions for people who want to get more active, spend more time with family, or have fun without spending much money."
Jackson County Parks include Emigrant Lake Recreation Area, all seven parks at the Howard Prairie Lake Recreation Area, Agate Lake Park, Cantrall-Buckley Park on the Applegate River, Dodge Bridge, Rogue Elk, Takelma and the Upper Rogue Regional Park on the Rogue River, and Willow Lake. Jackson County Parks season passes are also accepted at TouVelle State Park.
New this season are yurt and cabin rentals at Willow Lake. Jackson County Parks also features a new online camping reservation system that was introduced earlier this year.
Jackson County Parks boast a wide variety of outdoor activities, including world-class salmon and steelhead fishing on the Rogue River, along with trout and bass fishing on Howard Prairie and Emigrant lakes. The Parks also feature excellent campgrounds, including RV camping, numerous boat ramps, picnic areas, hiking trails, river rafting, canoeing and kayaking, among other activities.
