Bats are our friends, but many bats are killed because of false impressions. Their good qualities far outweigh their bad reputation.
To better understand these helpful creatures, a special display of mummified bats and educational materials, provided by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Forensic Laboratory, will be featured during November at the Eagle Point Branch Library, 239 West Main Street.
A ?Third Thursday at the Library? presentation on the goals and workings of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensic Laboratory will take place on November 18, from 3:30 ? 5:30 p.m. Outreach Educators from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Southern Oregon University will show specimens from the lab and tell stories about specific cases. This is the only lab of its kind in the world. Witness the clues to the illegal killing of a tortoise, a zebra, and even an elephant! Young people are welcome to attend this fascinating presentation!
