In 1911, the women of Woodville (the former name of Rogue River) were looking for a way to make their little town a better place to live. Their first project was to establish a book exchange which later evolved into the library. Community members are invited to join in the ?2nd Saturday ? Love This Town Birthday Bash? celebration honoring the Rogue River Civic Improvement Club?s 100-year anniversary and the Rogue River Friends of the Library?s 41-year anniversary. The celebration is on Saturday, April 9, from 1 ? 4 p.m., in the Rogue River Branch Library, 412 East Main Street.
The Civic Club and two additional Rogue River families are funding the Saturday library hours on April 9. Enjoy refreshments and peruse the scrapbooks and photographs from the past 41 years of the Friends.
Please contact the Rogue River Branch Library at 541-864-8850 for more information.
