In an announcement in Japan today, Sony has just announced their new line of flagship Vaio laptops, and while the specs are pretty much what we?ve come to expect from Sony?s prestige line of notebooks, they do feature one impressive new addition: USB 3.0 support.
Shipping in two models ? VPCF139FJ/BI and the VPCF138FJ/B ? the new Vaios feature two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI interface, an SDXC card slot, a Memory Stick Duo slot, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, an Intel PM55 Express chip set, and a 0.3MP web cam.
The more expensive laptop will cost $,970 when it launches in Japan on October 9th, and ships with a Core i7-740QM (1.73GHz) CPU, 4GB of RAM, a GeForce GT 425M GPU with 1GB of VRAM, a Blu-Ray drive, two television tuners, a 16.4 1080p display and Windows 7 Home Premium.
On the other hand, the cheaper Vaio will cost only $2,140 and will ship with the same display, Blu-Ray drive, memory and television tuners, but only has a Core i5-460M (2.53GHz) CPU and a GeForce 310M GPU with 512MB of VRAM.
There?s no international pricing or distribution yet for the Vaio F series, but Sony inevitably rolls new Vaio models shortly after their Japanese debuts, so expect these luxury laptops to drop in time for Christmas.

Price of LCD TVs Will Drop 12% by Holidays
For those looking to get a flat-screen television before the holidays either as a gift to someone else or as a personal gift, now is the time to get them. There is an unusually large oversupply of LCD TV panels which is pushing the price of one of these flat-screen TVs down just in time for the holiday season.
By the end of September, the price of a LCD TV will be down 5% what it was one year ago. However, when October hits, the price is going to enter a tailspin and it is going to drop quickly. It’s expected that by the holidays or soon after, prices will bottom at 12% lower than they were in 2009. In some cases, it could be even more dramatic.
According to iSuppli, a research firm, 32-inch LCD TVs will drop to an average price of between $249 and $299 on Black Friday. Currently, the best models sell for $349 to $399.
The reason that there is such a decrease in price is because of the surplus of LCD panels. In the first nine months of the year, there have been more LCD panels shipped to warehouses than in comparison to the number shipped to retailers. For example, in the second quarter, 52 million panels were shipped, but only 38.7 million reached retailers. That’s over 13 million panels that were just sitting there.
But, the question analysts are wondering is why there is such an oversupply of panels. The reason is because TV makers were firm on not lowering the price of TVs as the demand for them dropped. So, the supply increased because fewer people were able to afford the flat-screen panels. TV makers hoped that the World Cup would increase the sale of TVs, but it didn’t.
"Manufacturers were playing a game of chicken, hoping demand would be there and reluctant to be the first one to let prices fall," Paul Gagnon told CNN Money.
The market, though, will correct itself. As the big deals hit, more of these TVs will sell and manufacturers are less likely to make more until the supply is corrected. Therefore, prices will most likely bottom out at the end of this year or the very beginning of 2011. After that, they will begin to rise. So, if consumers want to benefit from the decrease in price, it’s important to get it before the New Year.
Despite the fact the economy is tight right now, people like to purchase new TVs. Anticipate big rushes for them when big deals—such as Black Friday—are made available.cell phone softwares cell phone cell phones cell phone spyware

Own your own suitcase of ?Iron Man 2? armor
For many comic fans like me, Iron Man was formative in inspiring my love for tech gear, and no gadget could ever be cooler than Tony Stark?s suitcase armor? a briefcase-sized valise that transformed and expanded into a repulsor-armed cyborg suit in case of emergency.
You probably remember the suitcase armor from last summer?s Iron Man 2:
Or ? in less plausible, quasi-magical form ? in the 1990s Iron Man cartoon:
Either way, you?d probably kill to have your own set of suitcase armor to call your own. That?s ultimately what makes this Iron Man 2 Tony Stark Mark V Briefcase Replica so disappointing. Sure, on the outside its all machine brushed aluminum and red iron, just like in Iron Man 2? but open it up and bam! Nothing!
The lack of any robot armor in a replica of Iron Man?s suitcase armor is pretty disappointing, but if all you want is a themed briefcase with the ?Stark? logo emblazoned upon it, you can buy one of one thousand limited copies for just $459.99, and expect it to be delivered to your doorstop sometime in December.

Gmail user gives Google permission to recreate his mind after death
A Gmail user and computer scientist going by the name of Giulio Prisco has decided to give Google permission to recreate his mind after he dies.
Giulio believes this is possible based on advancements in technology and software over the next 50 years, combined with the terabytes of data Google will have collected about him by then. Giulio also assumes he will be dead by 2060.
He does make the following assumptions about the state of technology and Gmail accounts in 50 years time. They include:
The data in the accounts of all Gmail users since 2004 is available.
AI-based mindware technology able to reconstruct individual mindfiles by analyzing the information in their aggregate Gmail accounts and other available information, with sufficient accuracy for mind uploading via detailed personality reconstruction, is available.
The technology to crack Gmail passwords is available, but illegal without the consent of the account owners (or their heirs).
Many of today?s Gmail users, including myself, are already dead and cannot give permission to use the data in their accounts.
Giulio goes on to give Google the following permissions in his blog post with readers as his witnesses:
I hereby give permission to Google and/or other parties to read all data in my Gmail account and use them together with other available information to reconstruct my mindfile with sufficient accuracy for mind uploading via detailed personality reconstruction, and express my wish that they do so.
Signed by Giulio Prisco on September 28, 2010, and witnessed by readers.
Will you be joining Ben in offering up your mind for recreation in digital form after your death?

Matthew?s Opinion
Giulio?s post about this raises some interesting questions about data gathering and what happens to our online persona and data after death.
We have to assume that Gmail and Google will still be around in 2060. What we don?t know is just how much Gmail will have changed, and how much better Google has got at collecting data about us. The amount of storage allocated to such a task will certainly be in the terabytes. Combine that with an increasing amount of time spent online by individuals, coupled with the gadgets we take with us everyday becoming ever-more connected, and it?s feasible Google could know everything about you by 2060.
What you also have to consider is people who start using Gmail today and continue to do so, will have a lifetime of data stored about them on Google servers in 50 years time. Combine that with the AI-based mindware Guilio mentions and it does seem likely some form of personality could be created digitally.
A more pressing question for Gmail users is going to be what happens to my data after death? Should Google have a policy, or even options you can setup now, like a Gmail will? That way you could choose what happens, whether the data opens up more for Google to use, or whether it should be deleted forever.
Personally, if Google can recreate my mind almost perfectly by the time I die then I?d be up for reincarnation on a server. If I didn?t know any different it would be as if I never died, right?

Royal role
Traditional leaders continue to exert considerable influence in Nigeria Praise-singers and drummers herald the arrival of the emir of Zazzau in the northern Nigerian town of Zaria. “I trust my traditional rulers because they don't loot our money”Kano residentNigeria at 50: Special reportStill standing, but standing stillWhat it means to be Nigerian Resplendent in his flowing red robes and turban, he is surrounded by courtiers and advisors, and protected from the sun by a large white ceremonial umbrella. Palace guards stand to attention as he passes. In its turbulent half-century of independence, Nigeria has experienced not only a brutal civil war, but also a succession of military coups. Only in the last decade has it enjoyed relatively stable civilian government. Throughout this period, one institution that has played an important stabilising role has been that of the traditional rulers of kingdoms large and small across the country. While traditional leaders hold few constitutional powers, no politician is wise to seek office without his blessing. In pre-colonial days, kings ruled with absolute power across what is now northern Nigeria. Their origins pre-date even the arrival of Islam some 200 years ago. Under British rule, these northern emirates were adopted as an integral part of the colonial administration and they became increasingly powerful. Today, despite attempts by successive governments to marginalise them from the political process, traditional leaders continue to exert significant influence. The emir says his role is to bring peace to communities "They continue to yield so much power in who gets what political appointments, although most of this influence remains behind the scenes," explains Kabiru Sufi, a political scientist. This remains so particularly in the mainly Muslim north, where they are seen as custodians of both religion and tradition. In one of Kano's largest markets it was difficult to find shoppers who disagreed with that sentiment. "I trust my traditional rulers because they don't loot our money," one man told us, reflecting a widely held disillusionment with the elected political class in Nigeria. Another says: "I trust them because they choose quality politicians who will help the people, and I'm happy to vote for the candidates they advise." These sentiments are particularly pertinent at a time when political aspirants are jockeying for selection as party candidates ahead of local and national elections in just a few months' time. At the emir's palace, a horn is sounded as he enters the inner royal chamber. A succession of local dignitaries approach him, now seated on his golden crown, to pay their respects. When independence came to Nigeria, Shehu Idris was a school headmaster. But with his royal lineage he was destined for another calling. For more than three decades, he has been the emir of a kingdom with its palace in the town of Zaria, and influence over a much larger region known as Zazzau. We have been granted a special audience, and approach the royal throne. Nigeria's kingdoms used to rule with absolute power in pre-colonial days Little has changed in terms of protocol and tradition in such courts for many centuries. What role does he see for traditional rulers in today's Nigeria? "It is for us to intervene in disputes to bring peace to communities," he says. When it comes to elections, "we don't give support to politicians. We give them blessing, that they should have respect and be ready to serve the people who have elected them." It is easy to be cynical, and to object that Nigeria's recent history has been both chaotic and violent. Or to suggest that politicians in Nigeria are held in such low regard that any idea that they enter politics to serve anything other than their own pockets, sounds faintly ludicrous. But the moral certainty of values the emir upholds are genuine and widely respected and traditional beliefs, both spiritual and religious, are powerful forces in Nigeria. With the audience over, the trumpet sounds and the court herald declares the session at an end. Along with his many advisors, we withdraw from the room leaving the emir alone on his golden throne. This article is from the BBC News website. British Broadcasting Corporation, The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

Buy your own flame-spitting replica of the 1966 Batmobile for just $150,000
Way back in 1989, as Bat-Fever swept across the land, I had the opportunity to sit in the original 1966 Batmobile as a Batman obsessed. I was not impressed: instead of a fully functioning crime fighting race car, I had my picture taken in a fiberglass shell of an automobile that would not push north [...]cell phone spy software

'Stressed' Jean goes to hospital
Wyclef Jean's new album is expected out next year Hip-hop star Wyclef Jean was admitted to hospital at the weekend suffering from stress and exhaustion, his publicist has confirmed. Marian Salzman said Jean was "suffering from stress and fatigue based on the gruelling eight weeks he's had". The singer recently withdrew his bid for Haiti's presidency and had been working on a new album. He is now at home recuperating and is expected to return to work in about a week, Salzman said. Last month, Haiti's electoral council ruled that Jean was not eligible to run for Presiden in his home country. It was because he did not meet a requirement that presidential candidates maintain five consecutive years of residency in the country before running. Jean, who was born in Haiti but moved to New York as a child, said his new album, due for release next year, would be titled If I were President, the Haitian Experience. This article is from the BBC News website. British Broadcasting Corporation, The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

Seen it coming?
One in seven Americans consulted a psychic or fortune teller in 2009, research suggests Fears that vulnerable people are being exploited have led to a growing push to regulate commercial fortune-tellers in the United States. But what do the diviners - historically free to ply their trade - think of the new laws, asks Claire Prentice in New York. Fortune telling is big business. One in seven Americans has consulted a psychic or fortune-teller, according to a recent survey. In some parts of New York there are psychics and tarot card readers on almost every block, charging anything from $5 (£3) to over $100 (£63) for a consultation. And practitioners say business is booming against the backdrop of the recession, perhaps as growing numbers of people seek both recreation, and reassurance that a brighter future awaits them. “We are not saying these people with a licence can accurately predict your future”Keith Sadowski Warren city council In the past, fortune-tellers have largely been free to operate without interference from federal, state or city authorities. But in an increasing number of areas, officials are seeking to crack down on fraud and gain control of a growing industry. As of this month, every fortune-teller in the city of Warren, Michigan must have a licence to operate. To get this they must undergo a police background check, have their fingerprints taken and pay an annual fee of $160. Officials there say that regulating an industry, which few people understand and many regard as trickery, has its challenges. But with more psychics setting up shop, they say something needs to be done. "We are not saying these people with a licence can accurately predict your future," said Warren city council secretary Keith Sadowski. "But we wanted to make sure we had some recourse in case we do get somebody who is not legitimate." Officials in Warren say they will investigate if they get a complaint about a fortune teller behaving unethically. A number of US states are attempting to regulate the industry on a local level But how will law enforcement officials distinguish between someone spending money on harmless recreational fun and someone being ripped off? "It is a pre-emptive measure," said Mr Sadowski. "We want to deter the scam artists and criminals who prey on innocent people. I hope anyone using these services realises that they are for entertainment purposes." States in which steps have been taken at a local level to regulate the trade include Maryland, Illinois and Massachusetts. Measures introduced include police interviews, background checks, registration fees, the random inspections of premises and a cap on the number of fortune tellers allowed to operate in a given geographical area. If police receive a complaint, in some cases they will require a psychic, palm-reader or medium to give a dissatisfied client their money back. Rosemary McArthur, the founder of the American Association of Psychics and Healers, said she would welcome tighter regulation. "There are too many people out there being ripped off thousands of dollars," said Ms McArthur, who goes by the name of the Celtic Lady. But, she added: "How does someone with no expertise, and who maybe doesn't believe in psychics, decide if a complaint is valid?" Police in Annapolis, in the US state of Maryland, interview applicants to ensure they are "of good moral character" before issuing a fortune-telling licence. Anyone found operating without one could face a fine of $100 (£63) and up to 90 days in prison. “It only takes one bad apple to get us all a bad reputation”Craig McManus A New Jersey-based medium "The fact that you need to get a stamp of approval from the police chief acts as a deterrent to impostors and gives consumers confidence," said Phil McGowan, Annapolis' public information officer. "The system seems to work well," he said.In other parts of the country, psychics, fortune tellers and mystics have come together to police themselves, developing their own code of ethics. Lily Dale in upstate New York bills itself as "America's mediums and spiritualists town". It is a year-round spiritualist community and attracts thousands of tourists over the summer months. Outside buildings all over town there are signs offering the services of mediums. Some have lengthy waiting lists. To apply to work there as a medium, you have to be registered with a spiritualist church. Before being accepted, candidates must undergo a testing process and be certified. "Because we self-police, people feel they can trust us. They know that not just anybody can hang a sign outside their door saying 'medium' here," said Cara Seekings, a trustee on the Lily Dale Assembly Board who is involved in screening applicants. Though she would welcome standardised testing procedures, Ms Seekings is sceptical such a system would work. This view is echoed by New Jersey-based medium Craig McManus. "It only takes one bad apple to get us all a bad reputation. If you are looking for a lawyer or a doctor, you check their credentials. Unfortunately, you can't do that in our line," Mr McManus said. This article is from the BBC News website. British Broadcasting Corporation, The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

Pakistan\'s anti-President
It is easy to move here about Pakistan\'s President Asif Ali Zardari.
And it is right to criticize him. Zardari is actually a
an incredibly bad president, yes, he is even a man who for
his own country was not interested. While millions from the floods
fled, he toured Europe, as if nothing happened. Now
he said at a press conference in Islamabad: \"I do not think that
Pakistan never fully recovered, but we will move forward. \"
Even if he should be right than president, he should not say this because
it takes people in their plight even the last one: hope.
So you could continue to rant about Zardari. At some point, but will it
so by, and nothing is explained later. This is a shame. For
Zardari is very much to understand Pakistan. The political
Tragedy of this country is reflected in fact reflected in his person.
Zardari is in 2008 only became president because his wife -
